CREATING THIS TYPEFACE WAS AN EXPLORATION OF IDENTITY THROUGH FORM. TYPOGRAPHY HAS ALWAYS BEEN A WAY TO TELL STORIES — EVERY CURVE, ACCENT, AND DETAIL CARRIES MEANING. IN A WORLD FILLED WITH COUNTLESS BEAUTIFUL FONTS, THE CHALLENGE IS TO DESIGN SOMETHING THAT SPEAKS WITH ITS OWN VOICE. THIS GOTHIC-INSPIRED CREATION EMBODIES THAT SEARCH: A DIALOGUE BETWEEN HISTORY, EXPRESSION, AND THE UNIQUENESS THAT EMERGES FROM EACH LETTER.

The Journey
This typeface began as a study, a way to push my design skills further and sharpen my focus on typography. Inspired by classics like Amador and Old London, I reworked each detail until it carried its own voice. The pointed, hand-drawn edges give it a sharper, crafted feel — a blend of tradition and experimentation that reflects my journey in exploring type as both study and expression.
The Design
Designed in a gothic, retro, and vintage style, this typeface carries an intentionally sharper and more aggressive tone, reflected in each pointed detail. Every letter and number was crafted individually, shaping its character step by step. Built in Illustrator with the help of Fontself Maker, the process became both technical and expressive — a balance between precision and the raw, handcrafted aesthetic that defines its voice.
the development
Once completed in Illustrator and Fontself Maker, I focused on presenting the typeface in a way that matched its strong and coherent vibe. Through mockups and photography, I explored how it could live in different contexts — showcasing its versatility while staying true to the bold, gothic energy that inspired it.
the takeaway
This project was an opportunity to deepen my skills in typography, from design to technical execution. It reflects my focus on exploring different styles and strengthening my work process in type design.
